Wetfish Radio was started by roland, svchost, rachel, Haitani, devnill, Sportacus, TheSaladCaper and some others whose names and contributions have been lost to the sands of time. It began with a simple desire to share our favorite songs and tracks with each other within our small community, and it was pretty successful within the community itself. Most active IRC people would tune in (at least for a little while) and offer critique or ridicule, based on who was playing what at the time.

In an effort to make it even more radio-like, we made a large and expansive series of "bumps", or bumpers as they're called in the radio industry. People got into it and made bumps usually referencing Wetfish history or events from Skyparty and IRC. Even rossthefox has a bump out there somewhere, as well as ones with famous prank calls by bustin to a prominent lawyer and a famous hotel in New York.

In an effort to publicize wetfish and Wetfish Radio further, the listen.pls links would be shared to 4chan's /mu/, /x/, and /b/ boards regularly. Our peak listeners is not a confirmed number, but hit something like 40 users one night when Roland played a creepy playlist with ambient sound, Silent Hill background tracks, and numbers stations from the Conet Project. Haitani may or may not have broken some record too during the whole CoSplay thingy.

After a while we stopped making them for various reasons, most of which point to lack of general interest and the greater difficulty of maintaining a large collection of music files on hard drives. With the advent of streaming, however, Wetfish Radio has seen a rebirth on Soundcloud, where anyone can make playlists and share them with the touch of a button.

There are no rules on content, but we do prefer that you give it some flow. Try to make it at least 30 minutes long, but no more than three hours. Using Soundcloud playlists is alright, though ideally you should mix the songs into a single track. Note: If you do mix the songs, please provide a tracklist! (Bonus points for timecoding it, but that can be difficult)

You too can make bumps! They should be shorter than 30 seconds, have a clean sound quality, be related to Wetfish specifically in some way and it should also mention Wetfish Radio or Fish Radio. Make sure it's licensed under the Creative Commons and we'll feature it on our page!
