Defunct game ideas. Useful for retrospect.
Game A - Briefcase Game
Problem: Disagreements need to be quickly resolved, lest a player runs on thinking he's doing something successful when he actually hasn't.
This game has been tested!
Synopsis: Two or more players attempt to deliver the same briefcase without being shot by each other.
Possible consequences/Allows: Roughhousing, but not fighting, is allowed. Any weapons besides the airsoft guns provided are disallowed.
Setup: Players are positioned a minimum of 50 feet from each other and the briefcase, and are equidistant from the briefcase. All players have loaded airsoft guns. Ideally, each player has identical loadouts.
Goal: Give briefcase to referee.
Every 2 minutes, game swaps between two types of time windows - Open and Closed.
Conditions...
Open: The referee will accept the briefcase during this time window. Getting shot by an airsoft gun during this window requires you to drop the briefcase where you are and not pick it up until the window and the upcoming Closed window ends.
Closed: The referee will not accept the briefcase during this window. Getting shot during this time window restricts you to predefined areas, typically away from all the action. You must head there immediately, and may not return to the playing field until the window ends. You may not pick up the briefcase after getting shot during this window, until the window ends.
Definitions...
Returning the briefcase: This is defined as the briefcase being in bare-skin contact with both the referee and a player simultaneously.
Holding/carrying the briefcase: This is defined as the player's body being part or all of the structure which keeps the briefcase off of the ground, or the player touching the briefcase through any form of clothing or by bare contact.
Open Ref Notes
- The referee should pick a spot to remain at, and stay there, touching the briefcase immeadiately when it comes into arms reach.
- The referee should have an accurate clock on them, and announce immediately when the windows change.
Referee notes:
- The referee should pick a spot to remain at, and stay there, touching the briefcase immeadiately when it comes into arms reach.
- The referee should have an accurate clock on them, and announce immediately when the windows change.
- The referee should be willing to tell players if something is acceptable or not should the player ask about it, but not give them examples of what is acceptable. That is, if a player asks if they may continue carrying a briefcase after getting shot during a Closed window, tell them they may, but if they ask what all they may do, do not tell them anything more than the rules defined in the above rules section.
Clairvoyances:
- Transporting the briefcase by wagon (or similar means) after being shot during the Open window is acceptable
- Carrying the briefcase outside of the playing field on their way out after being shot during the Closed window is acceptable if they were not shot during the past Open window. Otherwise, transport by wagon (or similar means) is required.
- Players are allowed to fire their gun at any time.
- Any player is allowed to go outside of the playing field at any time.
- Getting shot outside of the playing field still counts.
Game B - Photo game
Problem: The referee needs to not be overwhelmed.
Synopsis: Two or more players forge photos and attempt to prove that each other's photo was forged to the referee.
Possible consequences/Allows: None.
Setup: Two or more players and a referee required. An arbitrary rich and/or famous person is picked by some means. All players and the referee take note of who this person is.
Goal: Have your picture declared valid by the referee.
This game automatically ends one week after it begins if no victor is declared before then. First person to take a photo of themself and the predetermined rich/famous person, return it to the referee, and have it pass a trial against every player excluding it's submitter wins. Once a photo has been submitted, each other player may challenge them to a Trial once. Should all other players be disqualified, victory will be given to the remaining qualified player.
Trial: Players determine other players' photo's validity, with referee as judge. This judging can be at any time the player chooses, but will only last up to one hour. Each player may only argue one case against each other player. Multiple players may argue against another player's photo's validity simoutaneously.
Referee Notes:
- The referee should record the date and time that the game begins when it begins.
- Once recieving a photo, the referee should immediately notify all other players of it's arrival.
- Players in a trial should have access to a usable computer with internet during the trial.
Clairvoyances:
- Whoever submits a photo may not hold a trial against it.
- The photo must be the original one taken.
